Dogear is a bookmark manager for Chrome, Opera and other Chromium browsers. It has no bar and no sidebar. Press Ctrl+K over any page, type a few letters, pick a bookmark and press Enter.
Why
A dog-ear marks your place without taking up any room. Dogear does the same for the web: nothing is on screen until you call it. A bookmark bar holds a dozen links and a sidebar takes a fifth of the window, both all day, to save a few seconds now and then.
Install
- From the Chrome Web Store: choose Add to Chrome.
- From this site: download the zip and unzip it. Open chrome://extensions, switch on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder. In Opera, use opera://extensions.
Privacy
Dogear does not collect, transmit, sell or share any data about you. It has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it loads no remote code.
- Bookmarks: Dogear reads your bookmarks through the browser to show, search and open them. They never leave your device.
- Settings: Dogear keeps its own settings in the browser's extension storage on your device.
- Pages: Dogear shows its window over the page you are on. It does not read, record or send the content of any page, and it does not see your browsing history.
- Network: Dogear makes no network requests.
Dogear's handling of user data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. If any of this changes, this page changes first. Questions go to email. Last updated .
Status
Dogear is live on the Chrome Web Store. It is free and complete, with no locked features.
